Up Close it doesn't.  Looks like someone threw Brake fluid on it and it is smeared.

One thing about this Model is the Gaps it had.

OMG, I think I used a pound of filler especially on the Primary Hull.

Oh well, I will have to try again someday!

Looks just fine from where I'm sitting.  Mine is still in the box hanging on the tree.

While the E-B was never my favorite Enterprise (I just never liked the "refit" additions they threw on to differentiate her from the Excelsior), this one looks really pretty good. I did one, just because, several years ago, and it just sucked, so I eventually tossed it. I much prefer the cleaner lines of the Excelsior...wish they'd make a bigger, more detailed and correct model of Excelsior, but I know...never happen!

Anyway...nice work!

I could not agree with you more.  I love the TOS “E”, and the Refit and “A”.  But next in the lineup to me would be the excelsior.  It has always been a nice looking ship to me and I have one here I am going to Build as the USS Jupiter.  I have the custom Decals from Thomas already, just need to actually put the kit together.  And as for the seams in this one, I can tell that the Excelsior model will be just as much putty and sanding as this one was.

Where would the fun in building models be without, putty, sand, putty, sand, put....?

I also have the Excelsior model to build. But that is low on my list to build.

Spend most of my time in North Carolina but have been known to hang out in Florida.  So I guess I have a double chance, although not this time around.

I know what you mean.  I try to stay out of their way but some tmes it can't be avoided (or at least I choose not to).  I will say this though, you won't find me standing in the way of a Category 5.  Like the third little pig, I live in the house made of bricks but I don't think I'd even trust that at this point.  And it darn sure doesn't float.
