Starship Exeter models
Permalink

Here is my first model that I built, when I got back into models, last year. I was inspired by the Jimm and Josh Johnson's fan film STARSHIP EXETER " The Savage Empire". I built this from the AMT 3 spaceship set. The decals, are reduced PNT and PL, that I made. JT Graphics came out with a set way after I did mine. This is when I though that building models based on fan films, CGI models and cartoons.

Looks nice Lloyd.  As I recall that kit was pretty small, good job.  I really must get back into plastic soon.  I've bought kits and I've bought supplies (including a cheap-o airbrush) that I've never even used.

I painted the model with spray can. I mainly use an airbrush to paint a color, that is in in cans.

I think it looks good.  I eventually will have all of the original twelve.  But who really knows what the original twelve are.  I have heard of two versions.

The follow names have been established for starships, according to The Making of Star Trek book. The list has 14 names. But in the book, D.C. Fontana said that 12 starships were established in the series, so I don't know how the list below was decided on.
Enterprise
Exeter
Excalibur
Lexington
Yorktown
Potemkin
Republic
Hood
Constitution
Kongo
Constellation
Farragut
Valiant
Intrepid

Those are all also in the Star Trek Technical Manual by Frank Joseph.  I don't know what the original twelve are,  In the Episode, Court Martial (TOS), there is a list of ships behind the desk that you can see.

Plus Kirk also said he was aboard the USS Eagle.  But who knows if it is a Constitution Class or not.  It could have been another type of ship.

In the FJ Technical manual, the Eagle is a Constitution class as well, but was made after the Enterprise.

So Who knows!

I think I will stick with the FJD list. I still think of it as THE BOOK.

Here are a couple of pictures of a Klingon ship, I built as seen in Starship Exeter.
As with the Exeter, I reduced the PL Klingon decals, and printed my own.

Thanks,Woody!

Here are the last pictures I have of the set. I wanted to have all three ship together, as that completes all the ships in the film.

Very nice.  I used to have this kit.  Didn't turn out 1/10th as nice as yours did.

Thanks,4MM! These were the first one I built, when I got back into modeling. I am very happy the way they turned out. I know the more you build, the better you should get. At least I hope I do.
