New models I got.

Today I went to Hobby Lobby, with the 50% off model coupon. I picked up 2 Futuras'( for a Batmobile), 1/1000 NX-01(my first, and the only one they had), Scorpion (1st one I bought), and 1/288 Space Shuttle with NASA 747.

In the mail, I got 2 Tholian Web spinners (they are mine,Tholian), and Serenity resin models, from Mini Model Madness. I bought the Tholian ships to use on a Starship Exeter model later.

What have you bought?

Lately, not much.  However the single Hobby Lobby in my state is too far away to visit regularly (in fact I never have before).  But this weekend we are going to the Zoo and will be stopping by on Saturday.  So I'll let you know.

So I am going to assume the "Hobby Lobby" is a Francise hobby store in your area.  I have never heard of it.

Hobby Lobby is a chain of stores, that carry anything to do with any hobbies. Here is the link, look under store information, to find a store near you.

None near me.  But we have similar stores.  We have an A.C.Moore, and a Michael’s Arts and Crafts.  Basically the same I would say.  But our stores really don't have that much in selection as far as models.

We have a couple of Privately owned Hobby Stores around here.

Hobby Lobby is a large chain store located mostly south and west of us. Nearest Chain hobby store to us would be Hobby Town USA in Latham (Albany).

As for the newest additions to my Stash-

Italeri 1/35 Blackhawk (coming soon in a real neat diorama)

Tamiya 1/48 Bristol Beaufighter (Gotta Luv them RAF birds)

1/350 Nippon Maru (OP Sail 1976 ship)

Eduard Airco DH-2 in 1/48 (what a rigging job that puppy will be).

We got back from our trip on Sunday night and my first visit to Hobby Lobby was the previous day on Saturday.  I even remembered my internet coupon.

Models I brought home:  PL 1/1000th NX-01 and PL (nearly)1/1000th Klingon D7 (almost bought two, and probably should have).

Models I very nearly brought home:  PL 1/350th NX-01, The Jolly Rodger (mfr unknown, scale unknwn, model was reported as being pver 14 inches in length).  Decided against those two as I already have two 1/350th refits here still in the box that somebody needs to stinkin' build.

Models I very nearly brought home because of Tholian:  Walker Bulldog M41

On the non model front I purchased a new syphon jar (2/3 oz) for my airbrush, a new fine line nozzle for my airbrush, some methylene chloride ('cuz the skull and cross bones on the bottle just really intrigued me), and finally a small file set that I've spend months on the lookout for.

Now that I've been to all three I have to say that my order of preference from a model (and modle supply) standpoint is 1) HL, 2) A. C. Moore, and (a distant) 3) Michael's.  Since the Targets in my area stopped carring models the only stuff you can find dominated by automobiles and a very weak aircraft selection.  It's just too bad the Hobby Lobby is too far away for even a quick afternoon trip.

Way to go 4MM! Now You just have to build them. It is not brain surgery, but close.

I just picked up the AMT Snowspeeder, and the snap fit X-Wing Fighter. I wanted to get the snap fit, because I bought 1/72 JBOT green markings, and I want to build it different. Red is so old, to me.

Christmas came early for me, today. I had just started to get the tree ready, and been working on the animated deer for outside. When I got the mail my model orders came in.

From CultTVMan, I got Jimmy Flintstone's 1/64 scale Batmobile from the 60'sTV series. And, the model I have always wanted, The Proteus from Fantastic Voyage, made by Wilco Models.

From FabGearUSA, I got the Gerry Anderson grab bag of Trading figures.Trading figures are, prepainted models. All five I got are from inside Tracy Island. You can interlock them to make one long little snap together diorama. I have never had the Trading Figures before, so I will see how it turns out.

At the last show, I picked up some figures that look like great builds.

The first is the Nina Dolono.  She stands only 6 inches high.  Not sure on what scale that is.  Then the next is a Batman that hangs off the Gargoyle head.  Because of copy writes, they have no symbols on him, so Doc and I are going to make up his chest decal at a later time.

The third is a Casting of the character played by Selma Hiyak in the movie "Dusk till Dawn" She comes out as a stripper, and eventually turns into a Vampire.  Movie wasn't that great, but the Casting looks to be dead on.  LOL

^^So when are going to build them? The only figure I would like to build one day, is Vampirella.

Today I got from CultTVMan, the three set of 1701B, C, and E. Never had the set before. Also, ordered from PNT Models today, the decals for them. AMT decals are so limited.

Only new stuff I got was the CSS Virginia in 1/96 scale and a 120MM Civil War Marine figure. The figure is Dad's Christmas present as soon as I get it painted.

Lost another 1/100 HMS Victory on eBay. Just can't bring myself to pay more than $150 for it.

I suppose I could see if Fan can get it for me. It's still in the Heller Catalouge.

Beats the crap out of me.  I have so many in line now, I am not sure when I will get to them. I picked up the movie of that one of Selma Hyack dancing on the table.  Whew!  Needed a Cold shower after that.  Going to be tough getting her together without spilling some White Glue.  LMAO!
