I just read an article that reports George Takei (Mr. Sulu) has came out as a homosexual.  It certainly explains a lot of his relationship with Mr. Chekov, all those funny little looks across the navigation console, and being taken over by Landru so easily.  What is this galaxy coming to? Next we'll be hearing Mr. Scott and Doctor McCoy are dead. Jeez

You're right 4MM, in the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't matter.  Once it appeared on the news, I knew it would be fodder for conversation, but totally irrelevent.  It's his life, and I'm sure he was just clearing his soul, which shouldn't "really" be of any major concern to anybody but himself.  I can only see him as Mr. Sulu, on the bridge, doing his duty to the Federation and his Captain.
