The Steam Tug BALTIMORE is one hundred years young this season and we are going to have a birthday party for her during the weekend of October 21-22, 2006.  The event is open and free to the public and will be held at the Naval Reserve Center, Fort Mc Henry, Baltimore Harbor, Maryland. We didn't know if it would be too late to consider adding in a scale model boat show and judged contest for those modelers who'd want to participate.  Might you know anyone in the Chesapeake Bay region who'd be up to taking on a show co-coordinator's position?  We need a plug-in group who have prior experience along these lines.  The event can be held indoors or out (weather permitting).  It's a rain or shine event. We'd also be interested in knowing if any of your members have R/C tugboats they'd be interested in having a rodeo for the public to view off of the seawall in protected waters?  We could dock model ships and barges too using a low-to-the-water mini-barge float.  We intend to have tug-o-wars and heaving line tosses too on the land.  Much going on, plenty of activities for youngsters and our event volunteers will be put up for the weekend on the harbor's historic ships via the Navy's front-drop gate LCM's.  However, we won't make our weekend volunteers storm the beaches of Baltimore to get to their berthing compartments.

Hope you also wouldn't mind creating a post upon your discussion board so that model ship builders might become aware of us via our web site:

We are currently developing sets of ships drawings as we have been asked to do so by various individual model builders.

Sorry for the hodge podge post ... lots to do to effect the 100th party.  But we would like you to seriously consider our October event with an early reply please.

We'd be much obliged if we effect a modeler's meet.

Best Regards,

Walt Mathers
