Miranda Class
Permalink

Well, I decided to get back into some Sci-Fi since I took a slight vacation.  So I am making myself a Miranda Class starship.  Not sure if I will make it the Reliant, or some other ship.  But I have been dabbling into it a little and got most of the hull work down.  Got to sand off the nasty edges on this ship where they have the worst window work I have ever seen.

So here are some shots of the ship.  And the last two are of the ship with the Engines in place and me holding the Upper arch.

Tom, it is a good start. You didn't want lights in it? Are you going to aztec it? I don't remember the name, but what about the one at the beginning of STIV?

I didn't want to put lights in it, That would take me too long and I really don't want to be bothered.
I will light other stuff up in the future.

As for Azteking, yes, I have the Photo Etched Brass templates all set.  And I am hoping that it will come out looking nice.  I want to try something different this time.

I have been told already that I posted pictures with that Damn Torpedo launcher on Backwards, ashamed,  And that it wasn't called a Miranda Class, but something else.  Oh well, leave it to the Die Hards to point out all my Faults.biggrin

Not sure on what name yet, I have a few ideas running through my Brain.  But nothing concrete.  Except the barian of course.

I want to order the Window decals for it too, just haven't had the chance or money yet.

Well, I havent got that much farther on her because I have been working on a bunch of projects at the same time.  But I have it primed, and am still sanding down all the crap AMT put on it.  As you can see by the side shot, I got rid of those ridges that make it oh so ugly.  I am going to be ordering some decals soon for the windows.

They are better engineered when you pipe an M-80 in them and Light them.

It's true, you have to have game to be a good Sci-Fi modeler. Maybe if Sci-Fi kits were as easy as military kits more people would take up building them. Seems like if the kits are good then they are way over priced, Fine Molds as a prime example.

Just when we thought we had him "cured"....evileye.

If Sci Fi  was easy, everybody would build them.

Jeez, then we'd get Tamiya, Dragon, and Hasegawa building "shake the box" kits. There'd be tons of aftermarket stuff -resin, photo etch, and decals all from companies that don't fold up their tents 2 months after they open. Imagine the horror.wink

Now, now Doc. Tom can back slide anytime, since he is doing a very good job.

I never thought of window decals for the Miranda class, who makes them?

Tom, who ever told you that the Reliant is not a Miranda Class ship, don't know ST.

It has been called a Miranda Class, and it also has been refered as a Surya Class too.  So it doesn't really matter to me, it is stock out of the box.

As for the Decals, they have them on Federation Models.
