I've actually considered all of those ideas. But the deflect housing -- apart from being part of the warp engine supply system -- will have a small flight deck as well. More of a shuttle berth area than a true hangar. I figure two shuttles ought to work.
It's not going to take too much to wrap up modeling. Texturing takes sometime but the Gilbert wins the prize on the effort involved on that score.
I'm pretty happy with a small berth in the aft section of the deflector housing so I think I'll go with that. And hey, I've got a 99 year lease at the shipyard so no worries there. And knowing me I might need everybit of it. But really two weeks of my average off and on work should wrap things up for the Cairo so it's coming just a little while longer to wait.
Ah, thank you sir. Now just so you know here's where I'm going with the nacelles:
I was going to completely redesign them but since you mentioned a scratchbuild for me I'll make it easy on you and just go with the earliest seen Enterprise naclelle configuration (that did include the spires right?).
As for the saucer and bridge dome, I prefer the production proportions of the bridge, not the bulbous "thing" (Sorry) from the Cage. Again here I was going to redesign some things but I do have two "turbolift" cylinders on it (one to the rear and one to the side as we've seen). This may not be considered a step backwards timeline wise but hey I can live with that.
As for the Bridge, instead of one on the back and one on the side, How about two on the back sides. I made a Design a long time ago and I added two Bridge Turbo lifts. You can see it on this picture. It is a rear shot. This design would be a beautiful Render to do, but they are on Paper. I did it when I was 13.
Here is a phaser test (706KB, DivX). The idea for the way the emitters work are to help resolve the way we saw phasers in TOS in various scenes. And here is a mostly complete scene 1 (800KB, DivX).
