Hello all! Jax-Con 2005 is just 2 weeks away. It will be held on Oct. 8/9 (Sat/Sun) in Jacksonville, FL, at the Clarion Hotel at the JAX international airport. You can get full info on categories, rules, scheduling, entry forms and model forms at: IPMS-firstcoast.com. The big event of the show will be our speaker, Mr. Corky Meyer. He was a test pilot for Grumman from 1942 on up through the 1950's. I'm sure he has many a story to tell about the Wildcat, Hellcat, Avenger, Tigercat, Beracat, the captured Zero in WWII, and the early Grumman jets that he helped test. He'll be speaking at 6pm on Saturday evening. The main vendor room is sold out. If I get 2 or 3 more people on the vendor waiting list I'll be opening an auxillary vendor room! We've been averaging close to 500 models for this show every year, and hope to top that this year (if the weather continues to hold!). If you're in the SE U.S.; I hope you can plan to swing over and join in the fun. Cheers!
