Impressive! I was wondering about the weathering, and damage, but you explained it. Good looking camo airbrushing. I have only used an airbush to paint one color.
You say 1/16 scale, but how big is it in inches?
Better be careful, before you know it,your new basement will be full. Then you will wonder how it happened.
I won't be venturing back to the East Coast this weekend...I've been on the road for the last few, hitting MasterCon, IPMS Will Cook and MMSI, and a local show here in Madison. Part of the job of working for FSM.
I know for sure that I'll be coming back east for MosquitoCon (because I can stay with family and not have the expense of a rental car, hotel, etc.) and AMPS in Ohio this year.
Lloyd, there's a 1/72 King Tiger sitting next to it...but the model itself is about 26" long from the tip of the barrel to the exhaust pipes.
Hey Jeff, great job on the Tiger. 16th scale is an awfully large size for any model!!!
I may be able to make Mosquitocon next time. This year, because of the date change, it wound up on the day I opened my three facilities. I moved the opening date back a day so as to not interfere with the show. Yes, I do have my priorities set!! Models show first, then opening day. Sometimes it's good to be King!!!! I say let the customers wait a day, I have a show to go to!!!
The Tiger I is available as a fully-machined kit of components and has been designed exclusively for Armortek on the latest 3-D SolidWorks software. The model is constructed primarily from steel and aluminium, complemented with other cast alloys and materials. The model features scale armour thickness (some aluminium plates are up to 16mm thick!) and working torsion bar suspension – just like the real thing.
Actually no but I figured it'd be offset by the aluminum grinded away here and there to get the fit right, More like working on a car than anything else.
I thought about the ArmorTek Tiger, but decided on the Hetzer since it'll be scratchbuilt and not from a kit. I figured it's a pretty basic design and a good first attempt at something this large. There's a company called Panzerwerks in CA that does Hetzer/38T tracks and roadwheels, so I'll be using those as a starting point...who knows, it could end up a Marder...lol.
