20' rail car plans
Permalink

Any of y'all have or know where I can get a set of plans for a Civil War era 20' flatbed railroad car? I'm willing to pay for copying, buy my own, or steal a set if I knew where to get them.

I'm planning to build a Civil War rail gun from a very cool picture I found on the web. I have the tube and carriage, and have a good idea for the casement, but need plans for the car itself. If anyone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

Doug

Let me check with my contacts in the Model Railroad world. There might be somebody who can help out.

I can do you one better maybe. Got a commission casting job today at the LI show of some what appear to be 54mm Railroad flat cars for an ACW era train. Since I have the masters and the molds will be in my possession I can cast them and let you have a set of the test runs. They look to be the right size flat cars. Wheels, Trucks, frame and and Rail sections. Once I get the molds made up I'll send you pix of the pieces.
