Well lloydII, it's a client requested detail. I had to order some micro-hinges for the Bay Doors, so they open outward and reveal the detailed interior that will be illuminated. The scale is even smaller than the 22 inch version, so the Shuttles will be extremely small. I should have an update posted today, or early tomorrow.

I tried Wallymart and no luck there... they have a really limited selection.  I did end up buying the Polar Lights D-7 Klingon Battlecruiser.  It's been so long since I bought a model I opened it up last night and snapped it all together.  It's an alright kit, but I won't feel any real satisfaction until I putty & paint it, then I'll feel like I actually did something to it.  I'm tempted to light it, but it's so small and I don't have the tools I'd need.. not to mention the experience, but you only get that by doing.

Best deals for out-of-production models like the 18 and 22 inch Enterprise is E-Bay. Definite buyers market, not so good for sellers. The 22 inch "cut-away" TOS NCC-1701 sell for 20-30 bucks all the time. There's a couple of places you can buy some pretty rare models like Federation Models and Monsters in Motion, but the prices can be up there. I'd give E-Bay a shot first Jimmy, happy hunting!

Years ago I bought four 22 inch cutaways at Big Lots for $5.00 each. The good old days. For Star Trek, I still got some I like to buy, But one I never had, I got coming. Yesterday I bought from CultTVMan, the 1/2500 Enterprise 3 piece set of 1701B,C, and E. And when PNT Models comes out with the 1/2500 NX-01, I will have the whole set.

This years calendar of Ships of the Line, had the Fleet Museum with all of the Enterprises. It would be nice to build a model of it or like it, with all the ship around it.

I checked on the updates on the Destroyer. Good progress. I was wondering, on the saucer, are you keeping the molded grid lines?

Simon, I got my 22 inch fix up set from DLM. I see what you mean, it will make it look REAL.

Checked, again, on the Destroyer update. I am excited by this project. I still hope to build in what ever scale, the FJD ships. I will be looking again for more updates, this coming week.

As soon as RC2 puts it out, so that means never.

Yes it was Tholian, I submit to IPMS Gallery almost every month. I like to add a bit of sci-fi there as they focus on Military 95% of the time. If I can get the TOS Destroyer finished by next week, I'll submit it for January.

Here's the results as of yesterday, body assembled but still in rough shape. Shuttle Bay in place, and presently masked as I am applying primer and still doing some putty work.

That is a real neat looking hangar bay. The lighting looking very good. I don.t think you used enough clamps, on the saucer. I would have though that those clamps, would squeeze too tightly, and crack the plastic. I use cloths pins.

You do some fine work, and glad to see it coming together.
