My wife (Nancy) & I decided to get a divorce back at the first of January. Unfortunately, if we actually did so right now it would put us both in a serious financial bind. So we agreed to continue living together until we could afford it. Weird thing is, we're much better at being friends than we ever were at being husband and wife. I've fixed up the spare bedroom (the only room we hadn't done any remodeling in) and moved in.

Now for the other story. Back in Sept. & Oct. during the last few weeks before my mother passed away, Nancy and I weren't talking. Luckily Jo, a friend of almost 20 years, was there for me during those tough times. Jo's also getting a divorce (hers has been in the works for six months, damn lawyers) and because her husband is an @$$hole, she's already lost her car and can barely make the house payments. I've tried to help her out, but she doesn't want me to put me in a financial bind.

Jo and I go out on dates, my wife goes out on dates, and then we come home and ask each other if we had a nice time. If that's not a weird soap opera life, I don't know what is. Jo thinks it's pretty strange, but she's getting used to it.

Aren't you sorry you asked?

See, reality is stranger that fiction! Before my mother died, she said I would have to get married, so I won't be bored. Sure I'm bored, but I have enough problems to keep me going. Never been interested in getting married, never wanted kids, and I didn't want the competition, I loved to shop.
