Lemme figure something out to get you motivated.  mmm. I have to ask you a question first. Are you married? If yes, I can motivate you.  If not, I can't help.

Motivation? ( poke you with a sword tip) "Ready to do it now?.....Now?......How about now?....

Then, getting motivated should be easy. There it goes:
"It's time alone and away from the wife!. Tuning out completely with the "yes dear" auto reply in cruise control!

How's that for motivation?  wink.gif

My wife is very supportive of my hobby and if anything she encourages me to build. Years ago before the net I did mail order and set up at model shows to sell vintage plastic kits. My wife De was my partner, staff, and cheerleader in those years. She frequently asks me to get more involved in scale modeling and start up a new hobby based business. I have thousands of kits and I never get any of the problems some guys seem to suffer when they try to sneak in their latest kit purchase. My problem is really just me. Several people very close to me have passed away, work has been demanding, I'm a Boy Scout leader which eats up a lot of "free time", and my father has stabbed me and my siblings in the back to the tune of 100's of thousands of dollar's. I just don't seem to have a zest for life. 2008 has been a very depressing year for me.

You know Woody, I know how you feel.  My Father has become ill where he may be gone sooner than I think.  My Sister was on Deaths Bed until by some miracle, she came through and survived.I myself have bought a house with my Fiancee, and then came to find out that we were having problems that extended longer than needed.  But now we fiannly got through it all.The biggest thing is no matter how much life will bring you down, and you are turned into a wrong direction, there are good sides to it all.  Like that saying, What doesnt kill us makes us stronger.  And I do believe in that.So take your time, look at every problem from each angle and handle it the best way you can.  And you will do fine.As for modeling, I know that lifes pressures takes you away from things that you love.  But schedule some time to to something.  Even if it is just assembling a piece.  Even if it is a half an hour.  This way you have time to enjoy something you love, and it will make you feel better. Thats just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Hey Woody, I was just poking fun at married life. I've been married for 32 years and not regreting it. My wife is also very supportive in my renewed hobby. I, too have been going through a difficult year, actually, two difficult years and this model making is doing me some good. I understand as well how you feel.

Nature has a system, that for so much good things happening to you, you have equal bad. But with global warming and election year, more bad than good is to be expected. As for me, I take Lexapro, and it gives me a "I don't give a damn additude". so I'm comfortable numb.

I really liked this site. I thought I'd pop in and grab some pics while they are still up. I hope the forum picks back up!
